Sebastian Madlener
Founder & Creative Director

Based in Luxembourg and working across Europe,

Sebastian Madlener is the photographer and creative director behind Belairvis.

Sebastian’s relationship with photography started early. He picked up his first camera at the age of 11 and his first film camera at 13.

Growing up in Vorarlberg, surrounded by the Alps and a strong snowboarding culture, he began travelling internationally to document snowboarding and the people around it. At 18, he shot his first snowboard magazine cover, followed by features and publications in major magazines.

He later completed professional training in a photography studio, gaining a thorough understanding of photography, lighting, production, and the craft behind the image. His work soon expanded into filmmaking, where he went on to create films and won the Skate Film Festival in Madrid. Over the years, his work has evolved across photography, film, and commercial production. From campaign shoots for gloryfy unbreakable to hospitality projects for Villa Pétrusse and Hotel Place d’Armes,

as well as TV commercials and magazine cover portraits featuring Ralf Rangnick.

His path also led him into hospitality, where he opened and ran Brooks, a speakeasy cocktail bar in Innsbruck. The experience gave him first-hand insight into the people, atmosphere, and details that make a place memorable.

Today, these experiences come together through Belairvis - combining a photographer’s eye with a genuine understanding of hospitality, people, culture, and the places that bring them together.
